They put a red-hot helmet on Paraskeva's head and threw it into a cauldron of boiling tar. However, the martyr remained unharmed. When the emperor looked into the cauldron, the saint threw a few drops of red-hot resin into his face, and he became blind. The emperor began to ask Paraskeva for healing, and she healed him.
