Healings performed by St. Vasily Ostrozhsky

Sometimes doctors just shrug their shoulders in bewilderment, looking at pictures or analyzes of a person whom they declared terminally ill some time ago. And when they start asking questions, it turns out that their patient turned to higher powers and received healing.

What is more here - the healing power of holy places, relics and icons, or processes launched by the subconscious - everyone decides for themselves. Although the fact that there are places in Russia that restore health is no longer in doubt. There is too much real evidence of miracle-working and creative power that defies logical explanation.

the site will tell you where in our country you can find help and get rid of various ailments with the help of Christian relics. Unfortunately, it is simply unrealistic to mention all such places, so we will limit ourselves to listing only some of them.

Holy springs and healing places

Diveevo holy springs

The village of Diveevo, located in the Diveevsky district of the Nizhny Novgorod region, is famous primarily for the fact that Seraphim of Sarov lived and preached here, and for the fact that his relics, which have incredible healing power, rest in the Seraphim-Diveevsky monastery.

However, not only they attract suffering here. On the territory of the village there are also holy springs, each of which is endowed with special medicinal properties. From some reservoirs you can only drink , and some are equipped with comfortable baths. They come here with a variety of diseases, and, according to those who have been here, the worshipers receive not only physical healing, but also relief from mental anguish.

In general, in Diveevo there are several relics at once, which are considered miraculous. These are the relics of the elders of the Glinskaya wasteland (desert), and the relics of Martha Diveevskaya, and the list from the icon of the Mother of God "Tenderness", and the famous Holy Kanavka (ed. note - among Christians, the path along which the Queen of Heaven walked). And all these shrines are credited with the ability to heal.

Alexander-Oshevensky Monastery

Holy places of Russia: where and how to ask for healing and health

The Orthodox monastery is located in the village of Oshevenskoye, Karpogolsky district, Arkhangelsk region. Unfortunately, it has not been completely preserved. Some buildings are being restored, but something, alas, cannot be restored. Nevertheless, there are several places on the territory of the monastery, overshadowed by the grace of the founder of this monastery - Alexander Oshevensky.

The first such notable place is the two tracer stones. It seems that a man stood on the boulders and left his traces on them. According to popular beliefs, these are footprints of Alexander Oshevensky. It is believed that if you step on the trail, then all ailments will disappear.

There is also a holy spring, over which there is a cross. People believe that if you drink water from this spring, then sorrows will be quenched, fatigue will go away and longing, depression will stop. I once rested next to this key Reverend Alexander and gained strength and spiritual humility.

And under the destroyed Cathedral of the Assumption Holy Mother of God the relics of Alexander Oshevensky himself rest. And, they say, if you stay there for a while, then any physical pain goes away.

Miraculous spring, Aleshnia village

In the Dubrovsky district of the Bryansk region there is the village of Aleshnya. And in it is a holy spring. It is said that once upon a time at this place, wandering pilgrims stopped for the night under a large sprawling tree. But then one day lightning struck it, and it instantly crumbled. However, where it grew, a spring filled with healing power.

It is believed that especially its waters help those who have problems with the musculoskeletal system and heal wounds received during travel. This spring is called the Thunder Well. Some time ago he was consecrated, that is, he received the blessing of the church.

Ullu-tau - mountain range of the Central Caucasus, Mount Adyrsu

Holy places of Russia: where and how to ask for healing and health

Locals say that angels live on Ullu-tau, giving healing to those who need it. And the foot of Mount Adyrsu is considered the most miraculous place. It was here that many generations of aborigines brought terminally ill people and left them for a while. Miraculous healings happened so often that it was no longer surprising. Mothers who gave birth to weak and sick children also came here - and the kids also recovered.

Another famous list from this icon is in the Church of the Holy Martyrs Faith, Hope, Love and Sophia at the Miusskoye cemetery in Moscow. And here her myrrh-streaming is often observed (ed. note - the appearance of oily moisture on the icons), which is considered a sign of special miraculousness and healing power.

Savva Storozhevsky (Savva Zvenigorodsky)

Holy places of Russia: where and how to ask for healing and health

The relics of Savva Storozhevsky, the first and most significant student of Sergius of Radonezh, rest in the Savvino-Starozhevsky Monastery in Zvenigorod. Even during his lifetime, the Monk Savva was famous for his healing gift. They came to him and simple people, and influential Moscow nobles. He did not refuse anyone to help and heal. And until now, such a miraculous power that physical and mental ailments pass.

There are legends about Elder Irenar in Moldova. That, they say, the blind begin to see, the deaf begin to hear, and epileptics forever forget about their seizures. Whether this is true or not, we could not verify during a trip to the monastery of the Holy Trinity in Saharna (Rezinsky district): there were no people there with serious illnesses, at least outwardly, the parishioners did not show any diseases. And the people's rumor did not name the names of the recovered. But here's what they saw with their own eyes: they go to Irenar by bus, from all over our republic. And the fact that it becomes easier on the soul and heart, and the body somehow gets younger, that's for sure.

Holy places

On a broken road, without swearing (after all, we are going to the monastery), we get to the Saharna. It is better to go through Rezina - although the path is a little longer, but there is a little more asphalt. “The path to God is difficult,” remarks someone in the car philosophically. So that's why our roads are not being repaired, because there are monasteries in every direction!

There is a parking lot in front of the Saharnian monastery. Buses, minivans, cars. The unbearable smell of the public toilet. And the unusual beauty of the rocks, where they are covered with forest, where they are bare, original buildings of the monastery, which, fortunately, have not undergone a global reconstruction, when all the “beauty” goes into the plane of expensive building materials. And even the Saharna River, more like a stream, all in bags and plastic bottles thrown by the afflicted, and that one is somehow especially beautiful.

We pass by a tank with the inscription "Holy water", which is constantly replenished with a hose and a pump - people take it out in decalitres. We pass the kitchen, where the women preparing dinner for the clergy shout at anyone who dares to set foot on their territory. And finally, we reach the church. Columns are hung on the trees, pillars and walls of the buildings of the monastery, from where the deep, strong voice of Father Irenar is heard. The service is broadcast to the entire monastery, because sometimes the church cannot accommodate all believers. So this time - the apple had nowhere to fall.

"Reception" at the relics of St. Macarius

The service ended, and Elder Irenar began to receive people near the relics of St. Macarius, the first local monk, canonized as a saint. And he is not an old man at all - this old man Irenar, - our "landing party" was surprised. As it turned out, the elder in the monasteries is called the "senior of the monastery."

There was a queue at the relics. Each in two sentences talked about their problems, whether they were illnesses or business failures. Father Irenar blessed (“healed”), everyone bowed over the relics, prayed and kissed the elder’s hand.

After this, one man from our village was cured of epilepsy, - says a woman who flatly refuses to give her name and be photographed. She herself, - she revealed the secret, - is also sick with something.

These relics have great power, - Irenar explained, when we admitted that we had come not to be treated, but to collect information, - yes, they are able to heal. But this requires strong faith. Stay, now there will be a prayer service for the removal of damage and divination.

Getting rid of diseases, drunkenness and smoking

We listened to the elder's advice and stayed for the prayer service. The clergyman covered the heads of the parishioners with two cloths - black and white, and began to lead a prayer service. People listened calmly to Father Irenar's voice, no one twisted, no howled, as happens during the exorcism of demons. My colleague confessed after the prayer: “What a relief!” Maybe this is how you can get rid of some kind of ailment. After all, it is believed that diseases can be induced by damage, and on Fridays in Saharna they are just struggling with this. On Wednesday they get rid of diseases, on Saturday - from drinking and smoking. Beginning - after the service, around 10.00. Everything is on schedule!

Go to the doctor, - father George, the rector of the rural church in the Riscani region, briefly answered when I asked if the word of God helps with ailments. - Here you can get rid of spiritual problems.

And yet, people's rumor does not in vain praise the abilities of Irenar and the Saharnyansky Monastery. Most likely, believing in their own recovery, people heal faster.

The article lists the holy places in Russia, healing people and helping to live with faith, hope and love.

Orthodox people have somewhere to turn to in times of adversity - there are many places on the map of our country where you can pray, go on excursions, and even live as a worker or pilgrim if the monastery accepts accommodation. And sometimes God's grace can be found not in a huge temple, but in a small chapel, as in the one at the Smolensk cemetery in St. Petersburg, where the relics are buried and the icon of St. Xenia of Petersburg is located. Since 2018, Anton and Vika Makarsky have been talking about the holy places of their native land in a very interesting way in the educational TV project “Holy Places of Russia”.
